More Colors (Stick Veterans 0.9.5 released)

Version 0.9.5 of Stick Veterans has just been released, marking the 5th update of this game.

Once again. despite all the blood, sweat and tears, online multiplayer is not ready yet. The reason for this is that I wanted to progress some game features that I believe are necessary to bring the game to a mature state.

But let's not dwell on what hasn't been done; lots of other things have been done in this version, including:
  • Smarter AI: bots will now use jetpacks, crouch to aim better, and will generally do less stupid stuff than before.
  • Colorful maps: bringing a huge change, maps can now have two types of coloring: per-block colors (like the new map Outposts shown in the screenshot), and gradient colors (which covers the entire map in a gradient spectrum).
A lot more additions / fixes / improvements have been done too, so head to the game site (alternative) to learn more and play the game.

Not much to mention beyond that; development is tough and gives me headaches, but the satisfaction of seeing the game grow and reading your positive comments makes up for it. Thank you for that.

Until next update,
Kostas

Digital Forensics: Imaging

Hello! Sorry for being inactive so much time but summer lasted a little bit longer than usual..!

Regarding my digging in digital forensics, i decided to create a series of posts beginning with imaging. So today i will show you the three most prevalent formats of "post-mortem" imaging and how to obtain them (on a *nix system) from a test disk.

The discussed formats are the following:
(1) Raw Format
(2) Expert Witness Compression Format (or ewf)
(3) Advanced Forensic Format (or aff)
